On March 13, 2020, Greater Lehigh Valley Athletics (GLVA) instituted a postponement of all sanctioned events and activities effective through March 30th. This included all practices, meetings and tournament participation. Our top priority continues to be ensuring the safety and health of the community and supporting the success and continuity of the league.
A meeting of the Executive GLVA Board of Directors was held to discuss the future of our spring NFL flag football season. Following the guidance of professionals, including the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, the Governor’s Order(s) and the recent Presidential announcement of social distancing to remain in effect through April 30, 2020, we will continue to maintain the postponement of all sanctioned events and activities through April 30, 2020. We will continue to monitor the rapidly changing situation and make a final decision about the spring season no later than that date.
We know how important the season is to all of the kids and we don’t want to act hastily.
GLVA is unique in that the NFL flag football program offered is not governed by specific season dates. In other words, we have a bit more flexibility to manage season start/end dates as the organization sees fit. However, we are concerned about the safety of everyone more than anything. Allowing an additional waiting period will give GLVA time to work with our partners and make a final decision about the season. We will, of course, update this decision more quickly based upon any new information we receive from Commonwealth or the federal government.

- Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
- Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue.
- Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily (e.g., tables, countertops, light switches, doorknobs, and cabinet handles) using a regular household detergent and water.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
