What is the cost for registration?

The regular registration fee for the Fall and Spring leagues is $85 per player.  Early registration and/or late fees may apply.

Where will Greater Lehigh Valley Athletics Flag Football games be held?

The GLVA will hold games at Hanover Township Community Center -
3660 Jacksonville Rd, Bethlehem, PA 18017

Where are practices held?

Practices are held in area parks of your coaches choosing. It is our intention to form teams by geography. We will form teams after coach and team mate requests with geography in mind. It is our goal that your team will practice within fifteen minutes of your home, but it is not guaranteed. Games are held in one location. Practices range from 45 minutes to 1 or 2 hours depending on the age division.

Contact Eric at Eric@greaterlehighvalleyathletics.com if you have questions about practice locations or are unable to find space. There may be opportunities to practice at Hanover Township Community Center.

How many practices per week?

Practice is limited to one time per week while in-season.  Coaches may call two practices per week in the few weeks leading up to the beginning of games, but once the first games are played, we allow one practice per week. This allows for more family time or for a child to have many interests.

What is included with my registration fee?

Each participant will receive an NFL style jersey and flag belt, which is theirs to keep.

Am I required to do any fundraising?

No. There are no fundraising requirements. There are no snack stand duty requirements either. We want families to enjoy watching their children have fun playing NFL Flag Football!

Are coach discounts available?

Yes, head coaches will receive a discounted registration rate for their children.  In order to receive this discount, coaches must register themselves first in order to clear their participation via a national background check. Upon completion, an email will be sent with a unique discount code. This code may be used when registering their child(ren).

What are the age brackets?

Age divisions are ultimately determined by the number of participants, but ideally the league strives for the following:

6 and under coed (6U)

8 and under coed (8U)

10 and under coed (10U)

12 and under coed (12U)

14 and under boys (14U Boys)

14 and under girls (14U Girls)

15-17 boys (17U Boys)

15-17 girls (17U Girls)

What time can I expect my child to play?

Spring season games are held on Sunday afternoons; Fall season games are held on Sunday mornings.  It is our goal for each age bracket to play at the same time each week.

How do I determine my child's playing age?

Spring seasons, age is determined as of April 1st of that calendar year.
Fall seasons, age is determined as of August 1st of that calendar year.

Who is eligible to play in the GLVA NFL Flag Football League?

Anyone who is the appropriate age is welcome.

How long are the games?

Games are 40 minutes in duration. Time outs and half times are worked into these times.

Can I request my child to play with a group of his friends?

Yes. However, the league reserves the right to modify teams in order to maintain a competitive balance. We will do our best to accomodate your first request.

May I request a coach?

Many of the players in previous seasons request to come back and play for their former coach. Attempts are made to accomodate these requests provided the coach is actually coaching that particular season, and the league determines that it does not create an unfair playing advantage.

Will there be playoffs?

The emphasis in this league is first and foremost Fun, and Equal Playing Time for all participants. Therefore, to avoid a conflict with this philosophy there are no playoffs in this league. From time to time, we may have a fun tournament.

Does my child need previous football experience?

No previous football experience is required. The pledge of the league is that each child will receive equal playing time regardless of experience.

What are the uniform requirements?

The uniform requirement is for the participant to wear his/her team jersey.

What equipment is required to play?

Protective mouth guards are required to be worn at all times. Non-metal cleats are also required to ensure appropriate traction. Many players elect to wear shorts, or sweat pants. During cool spring and fall mornings under armor is also desirable to wear under team jerseys. Wide receiver gloves are also acceptable for playing.
